I am partial to the Regal GS. Do you graduate in 2014 or 2015? I am asking because I would not buy a car right before joining. You will have an extended period of time in which you won't be allowed to drive during your initial training. (A speed contest can screw up security clearances in the future as well, FYI)

2015 I will be enlisting with a Recon Contract. I've been working my @$$ off since I was a freshmen for this.

The reason why I want to buy a car, Is because my 1992 Saturn beauty is on her last days. Transmission is failing. My car overheats going to school. I've stalled multiple times in intersections and making U-turns that's no bueno. I'm closing in on 300k. No AC, in the hot Florida weather also the driver window doesn't roll down. Horrible oil leak. I've changed the spark plugs put in new transmission fluid still has no affect.

Also my father passed away when I was 14. Who had a pretty hefty life insurance policy. Which was left to me In his will for the full amount when I hit 25. So for the time being before I leave for the military I want to just have a decent fun car I can have some fun with I would just sell the car for cheap to a buddy before I leave anyways. When I turn 18 I'll also start receiving A social security check untill I graduate. Which is also related to my father's death. So wasting money on a car I will only have for about 2 years isn't an issue. I just want to keep it under the 6k mark.

Fill the trans with Lucas stop slip and drive it till it dies.

    Serious.

That way you've got more money in the long.

It's the crappy choice now as it may seem for social status; but it's the better choice in the long run.
