Past two years replaced all the brake lines and gas lines ,primary car is used only for winter but now the rockers are shot,is there a real safety issue when the car is rusty like , how do you know when it is unsafe, car runs great and looks good but the underneath is a question, now jacking up these cars are a problem as well, can anyone add to the question,is it possible the car can break in half. Should I bring it to a mechanic to see if he can jack it up to look under it? Any help would be great.

If the rockers are that bad its reliability is not very high. If it's as bad as you make it sound then it's time to get rid of it.

    Pictures of the rust?

The lower half of the rocker may be rusted away, but the main structure could still be fine.
