Hello, my name is Steve and I was recently given a 98 gran prix that had overheated and towed home. There is no water mixed in the oil, and from all I have read it may be the intake gaskets. But I did the test that when you open the radiator cap and start the motor, it does shoot water out the fill tube. Maybe the head gasket..? Thanks , Steve.

Yes I suppose, the previous owner pulled the plugs and water was coming out of the spark plug hole. I am getting ready to start the repair process. Just wondering if its the head gaskets, which almost everyone says are bulletproof or the intake gaskets.

Well if it is a high mileage car and you suspect the head gasket, why not have change them when you do the lim and have the heads checked for cracks

Well did a compression check on the front cylinders and they came in at 170 , 130 and 70......safe to say I will be doing the gaskets all the way to the heads
