Hello strtarrow it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our forums?

Anyway I have a 2000 GTP which of course has a supercharger. May have to post this elsewhere but how important is it to run high octane? I work with a former mechanic and he says bull and suggests a product called BG44K, a fuel injector cleaner. What say you???

tell your friend he knows nothing about forced induction cars.

USE THE 93 OCTANE OR 91 AT THE LEAST.

98 Buick Regal GS, F body brakes, Caddy STS wheels, tinted tails L36 bottom end, lightly ported heads, 1.95 roller rockers, headers, gen 5 N* 3.0 pulley, FSIC, 42 lb injectors, a BrandonHall rebuilt trans, DHP tuned and AEM water/Meth injection https://goo.gl/gpV5kW

I guess he doesnt understand forced induction and our low compression motors.

We need high octane to help prevent knock and keep the motor happy.

Running anything but 91+ is stupid, you'd just be asking for trouble down the line.

Even your owners manual and fuel door say to run premium fuel.

I have been running premium but just because the former owner suggested it. The car has about 160K on the clock and a daily commuter. I wish it got better mileage with 27 MPG being about the highest on an all interstate trip and can get into the teens. Actually I just tried a full tank (near bone dry after a trip) of non-ethanol Shell 93 octane so curious to see how that works.

you mpg are right where they belong really.

a tune up may net a few mor mpg if its not been done yet.

seems the last owner had more sense then your mechanic friend lol

You wish you got BETTER than 27 mpg on the highway with a 2 ton vehicle on a decade old engine technology?
    That is borderline troll post...

But Really? Then I'd say you are living in a dream world... Sorry!

Hey hey, the car only weights 3450ish lbs.

And getting 30-32 mpgs freeway is a cake walk if the car is up to snuff and you do the speed limit. I'd be angry if I could only get 27.
