Can I swap to a 3800 series 1 engine & transmission? My engine caught on fire, my tranny was already jacked & so was my power steering. I have a perfectly good engine & tranny pulled out of a wrecked 90 or so Buick lesabre I believe. Thanks so much.

I don't know much about the series 1, but I'd have to imagine it would. Considering the series 2 and 3 engines are swappable I would say yeah. But don't take my answer too seriously.

Thanks so much that's what I thought. I mean they are both front wheel drive right? I'm just a girl though so I'm trying to learn.

Yes, both front wheel drive. Like I said though, don't take my word on it fitting directly in because I know nothing about the series 1. Well, I just don't know anything about swapping a series 1

You can not put a series 1 motor/trans into a 97 or newer car.

You will need to find a motor and transmission from 97+.

But we also need to know what car you drive because there might be some other details that we need to know to let you know what motor/trans is going to a direct fit.

Your PCM and wiring harness are completely different than a series one.
