What are some modifications that I can do to a 98 GTP that are relatively cheap and work? People told me about the chip but I heard that is a waste of money. I already have a ZZP PCM and cold air induction. I have a 3.4 pulley but I am wondering if I should order the whole set or stick with the 3.4 but then a few shops I went to around Taylor, Michigan didn't have any kind of pulley tool so they wanted to charge me $75.00 to do so.

the chip is just a scam. the pcm and cai wont allow for you to safely drop to a 3.4 get a scanguage first. then get either a plog, downpipe or headers. then you can start to drop pulleys

That is what the guy at ZZP told me first and foremost is to get headers.

I would say get headers or a down pipe before dropping to a 3.4 and first and foremost you need something to scan with. Every car is different what works for one person may not work for the other that's where scanning plays key.

Guess I'll be doing some saving. I liked the idea of a $80 pulley versus $1,000 for headers, downpipe with cat, and labor costs. I was going to do that next spring along with the X-P Hot Cam, retainers, and double roller all for about $2,800 at ZZP. Was looking for some quick cheap mods to do right now. I wasted a lot of money this summer by replacing all my gaskets when I should have waited and got everything done together.

I was told to stay away from generic headers sold on ebay, I actually found them for under $250. ZZP gave me this
In your budget, I would do an XP cam package, PCM, 180 stat, plugs, headers, pulley/belt.

With labor that will be just short of 3 grand and give you about 270WHP.

if zzp told you that its because they want you to buy their headers lmao, I bought speedy daddy headers off ebay, yes $250 but then shipping taxes etc. their are 100's of people on this site with speed daddy headers. I wouldnt get any other ebay headers though.
    HEADER - STAINLESS STEEL - 97-03 PONTIAC GRAND PRIX 3.8L V6
only problem I had during install was crossover was a lil off but ill take a slight fitment issue over paying $700 more for the same thing. took maybe a hour then it was on, everything else was great.

dont get me wrong zzp is great, I got one of their products on my car, but no way woud i pay $1000 for headers when you can get the same thing for $300, they are even people here selling 100% new ones here for cheaper

I was trying to go with someone who is trusted and backs up their work. I seen everything on EBAY for much cheaper but I have no shop around me who I trust and who is reasonable. I told ZZP that I had all my gaskets replaced last month and they charged me $500 and he said they would have done it for $350, but they are across state so time and gas was worth the extra $150 for me. Yes I could buy a turbo and within 6 months have to pay $2,000 for a new high output transmission. No thanks just had the trans rebuilt 22,000 miles ago.

How much do you think labor is to do headers, if I have an idea I could go to a couple places and through them a number then order off EBAY, but the cam work will be done by ZZP.

Those are SDs, some people have issues with the flex section leaking, I've been running mine for almost 2 years with the stock flex. Some people have some issues with them leaking at the slip joints, just use some copper rvt there. Some people have issues with the front 02 hitting the firewall.

What about the downpipe, I know SD does not offer this so would I have to use my stock one or order on from ZZP?
