No I got that but everyone seems to assume that who ever owns a GTP is a freaking mechanic or inclined and if I was I wouldn't be asking questions. If you are going to criticize people for their lack of knowledge just don't post anything. I don't someone to help me with the mechanics just need advice because I want it to be right. I am perfectly happy taking it to ZZP and having them do all the work. .

    Then do that.

I'm just telling you that all the things you've asked have been covered PLENTY of times, if you'd take the time to look and read.

You think everyone was born with all this knowledge? No. It had to be taught and learned. So go sit and read for a weekend and come back.

I did read a lot of posts but it seems everyone has their own opinion and to be honest it can get quite confusing.

You have everything you need with the headers no you don't need a downpipe. You need a new flex pipe. 4 band 2 2.25", 2 3" clamps), a o2 extension. Reuse your stock gaskets.

You really should of looked into this more before you went and ordered them. There is plenty of threads about headers on here you shouldn't have to ask all this questions..the questions are here you just need to do some more searching.

I don't understand what's confusing about what anyone has said in here.

They've given you the links to buy the correct clamps.

Some SD header's have flex's that work. I personally wouldn't worry about it until it actually starts to fail...then make sure all of your motor/transmission mounts are in good shape and just delete the damn thing. You don't really need it. I never had one...granted, my cam setup didn't really like anything with poly mount everything.

Lol Sry ngj, but you are clueless and plan on modding your car. I suggest not. Ima try to clear things up for you real fast.

    You ordered headers.
    They attach to the E x h a u s t M a n i f o l d.
The headers come with gaskets to go inbetween the two. They suck dont use them.
Now on the rear header there is a flex pipe that tends to leak. This should be cut out and replaced with a new one.
After the flex the downpipe that comes with the headers dips low and will often hit things.
You cant just order a downpipe and replace the flex and downpipe that comes with the headers.
You would need someone to weld in a new flex and fabricate a downpipe or cat if you want one to replace the one that comes with the headers.
Also if you dont plan on using a cat then you will need to tune your pcm so that you dont get codes and fail inspection.
I suggest just putting in a cat because you dont know what your doing.
Also you will need an o2 sensor extension because the o2 bung for your rear o2 is farther back the the stock o2 bung so the o2 sensor will not reach without extending the harness.

I suggest reading and learning alot more befor attempting to make your car faster. Maby start by doing some exterior mods.

^ there you go explained very well. I forgot to mention the CAT that's where you need to figure out if your going to have one welded in or have your PCM tuned for it.

My whole plan was to eliminate the cat, we don't have inspections in Michigan so I am not worried about that. My mechanic can program the PCM but since they are overbooked I have to take it a muffler shop to do the headers so I am gathering information just in case the muffler shop is clueless as to this particular set-up. I definitely don't want anything hitting since I already lowered my car 2 inches.

did your mechanic tell you he can tune the code out? hes gonna need a tuning program that most shops dont have.

^ that. So you might need to just order a canned tune from one of the vendors and make sure you tell them to del the cat codes.

Just take it to a shop and have it done right. Save yourself the headache

Yes, he was the one that programmed the PCM to begin with, they have a complete electronics/diagnosis shop.

Went to 3 shops in my area and all of them said $500+ to do headers. Screw that, I would rather get a turbo for $2,400 then spend $800+ on some headers.

Wouldn't it just be easier to put the new flex on the speed daddy's before they were installed? Just for piece of mind seeing as how 1/2 leak?

Easy straight cut and not trying to reach up there and do it? I dunno it would take a exhaust shop 5 minutes to cut the flex out and weld a new one

Ask the guys at ZZP, he recommended me to do the turbo and then he went on to say that doing headers isn't worth the money. All I kmow is I'm not paying anything remotely close to $500.

Did the manly man at ZZP say anything about the $4,000 tranmission you will also need to run a turbo car?

Because that stock trans will last maybe a few good runs with a happy foot, then boom goes the input shaft.
