2006 Gr Px GT overheats in traffic.
    1. Should the fans kick on when car is running or does the car have to reach a certain temp for fans to kick on?
    2. Could this be a problem with the computer communicating with the fans?
    3. Local dealer says it is a problem with intake valves; $550 solution. Does this make any sense?

no it dont make sense at all.

are the fans coming on at all? around 212 they should come on.

they should also turn on when the a/c is on.

well theres your problem right there, not intake valves lol fvcking dealerships suck.

check the temp sensor under the t stat. maybe replace it if the wires look ok.

could also be a the fan relay or a fuse blown in one of the fuse boxes.

you can swap relays in the under hood fuse box. they are all the same pretty much.
