So my battery in my 2002 Grand Prix GT died, and I recently replaced it with a new battery. I installed the new battery, and I went inside to turn the key over and when I did not a thing happened.

Now my key is stuck in the ignition, no lights radio gauges or anything.

I would appreciate some help, also I did search up about the key being stuck in the ignition and read to remove the park solenoid or whatever it is called. I thought since what has happened to me is different and to make a post about it asking.
    Thanks for anyone who helps!

Try taking the leads off the battery and re-bolting them down.

Just sounds like it doesnt have power.

Yup check to make sure your terminals on tight and getting power. Doesn't hurt to clean them as well.

I just double checked this, turned the key over and lights came on tried to start it and it made a noise and everything is off again and key is stuck in the ignition again.

EDIT: Hooked up a booster to it and tried to start it and it started fine. :S

EDIT 2: Shut car off, and started it again and starts fine. Except radio on the display has something like "LOC" on it, not to sure what that means.

EDIT 3: Turned car off, to try and start it again and it did the exact same thing as before, made a noise and nothing happened.

"LOC" displayed on the radio means "locked" as in no functioning. It is a theft deterrent feature put in the radios to prevent people from stealing the radio. When power is lost to the radio, same as if it had been removed without turning off the "LOC" feature the radio will no work work unless unlocked, and there is a procedure for that, I just don't remember.

Kinda sounds like the new battery is bad. Like a dead cell.

I use the code 510 IIRC for the radio, use the hr/min buttons to change the numbers.

Yeah, I just went and got the battery checked I'm not sure what they used I think it was a multimeter but not 100% sure. Anyways, they checked the battery for how much power/amps is being put out and it read the battery wasn't putting out what it was supposed to all the time. Like there were times where it read the battery is good, and putting out enough power and odd times where it isn't. I'm taking back the current battery and getting a new one.

Yup my money was on defective battery. I usually have them test the battery after I purchase it just to be sure. I've have to many situations where I would buy a new battery...get home and boom defective and then have to go right back.

Yeah, I cleaned up the posts, and took the old terminal bolts off and they were really corroded so I bought some new ones and it runs good now. Well for now. Haha, and I fixed the radio also.
