    Greetings,

Just signed up, first day here as well as first time Grand Prix Owner. Just bought it a few weeks ago and was looking for some info and ran across this place. I am glad to be here!

My car is a 99 Grand Prix GT 3.8L V6 Auto.

This is the proverbial little old lady only drove it on Sundays story. Was actually looking for a car for my two sons to drive back and forth to HS and a friend from a town 25 miles south called me and told me I needed to come see his neighbors car. So son and I headed out and sure enough there it say in the garage. All white, little nose bra on it, charcoal interior and she was so clean. Not a mark on her, was hard to find even a scratch in the paint, interior too was near perfect. She started right up, took a test drive and she purred like a kitten. The odometer read 49,645 Miles. I ran a carfax and it came back 100% clean, called my buddy at the dealership and he ran a report with the same results. The sticker on the window for the next oil change read 51550 miles or by 7/2011!! Car fax showed that it had 4000 miles in last 5 years on it! My buddy and his neighbor (the guy selling it) told me the car belonged to his mom and was her baby, but as she got older and her health and eyes failed she didnt feel comfortable driving it and so it hardly got a drive anymore.

He was asking 6K, my dealer friend told me if it was as clean as it was he felt it was worth at least 5K I had $4800 cash in my pocket so I pulled it out and offered it on the spot. We went inside, handed me the signed title and I drove away. Kids now drive my 2001 185K miles on it Suburban and I drive the GP. I work from home so mileage should stay low, but not as low as she was running it. Stopped at the dealer and had it checked out, all the fluids still looked new, air filter, gas filter, etc all new (changed the engine oil to full syn anyway) and my buddy told me he would give me 5K on the spot trade in on any car on the lot or would just buy it outright for 5K ha ha I didnt sell!

Had orig factory tires on it and the brakes squeaked a little and pads were down to a quarter left at best so I bought new Mich Defenders for it ($500) and put brand new slotted and drilled rotars (mostly for looks) with centric quiet ceramic pads and painted the Calipers red! I have to say it looks pretty sweet that way!

I will post some pics tomorrow after I take some! I am thinking Air Intake and Exhaust mods are next!

Anyway thanks for having the forum and I am glad to be here, read a lot already lots of good info here!
