    Hello,
I recently bought a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix 3.1 ... I believe that is what it is... but i am having a problem with my air conditioner... i bought a recharge kit and it worked for maybe 5 minutes before it continued to blow hot air. Does anyone know how I can go about finding out what the problem so I can get it fixed without having to spend a bunch of money at a mechanics shop for something that I could have done my self.

    Thanks all...

    Sincerely,
    A VERY hot driver

if you follow all the a/c lines under the hood you should find a real greasy/dirty seal, or connection, that would be the oil leaking out of the a/c system. then work on repairing or replacing whats needed.

Same thing happened to mine. Ended up being the compressor was toast on my car it was a nightmare getting too on the 3.1 I'm sure it wouldn't be that bad.

A nightmare on a 3.8? It's super accessable on a 3.8. Likely in the same location etc being the same body on the 3.1 engine.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

I had problems thank god I had the swivel end and impact gun. I tried from the top and couldn't because the SC snout. So I went from the bottom and just fought with it. I'm sure there was/is an easier way I'm just still learning my ways around the 3800 .
