look up the f body swap, they are camaro/firebird front brakes, brackets, disks and calipers. easy swap. makes a big difference. and they fit inside a stock 16 inch wheel.

stock 04+ are 1000x's better than 97-03 though. I was going to upgrade my comp g brakes but they are very good for stock.

its still got to be a upgrade, dual piston vs single. well you know.

even if technology made them better over time.

I may upgrade eventually if I find a super good deal or something but right now I have lifetime pads on it so I want to at least wear them out first so I can get a free set lol

If you do have to change out your brake pads Dsmuts the 06 brake pads are a bit larger and give a tad bit more bit and use stock 12" impala rotors up front.

The main thing I was looking for is rear brake info. Such as I thought that the comp g had bigger rotors than normal he's and gtp's. Looking to do powers stop drilled rotors or gxp set up. I will do the 06 brake swap up front. Also was wondering if I am stuck going to GM for the struts or does anyone make them aftermarkey for the comp's? Also adding the bmr rear arm kit. Next is 3.4 pulley, slp headers, slp exhaust and an "cold" air intake from pfyc.com.

    Things to note.

A 3.4 pulley on a Gen V is like a 3.2 on a Gen 3 supercharger. The 04+ cars have the better blower, so start with a 3.6 as its much safer than dropping to a 3.4 right away. Its also wise to get somesort of scangauge to monitor the car as you mod it.

SLP headers are good, just more money. The SLP exhaust is a waste on money because the only thing is does is change sound. Save yourself a few hundred bucks and just weld on some mufflers if you want the sound changed.

And making your own intake for 1/5th the cost of a PFYC intake is the way to go around here. There are a few threads on here to show you what others have done.

    Welcome.
I have the full OEM GXP front and rear brake setup.
Definitely look into doing the front atleast, you won't regret it.
You can fit front GXP caliper/12.7" rotor behind the stock 17" wheel.
KYB GR-2 F&R with SSC springs.
For a Grand Prix, these are acceptable upgrades IMO.

I have looked into the kyb's and the Monroe's but from what I have found they do not make them for the comp G. I thought the Comp's have a a more performance tuned strut. I know the spring is different for handling and for for ride height. I have looked at the GXP brakes, but think the dual piston from the 06 would be a better choice.

I see a lot of people talk about or use the ssc springs. Does anyone know how much lower the car will sit with these over the comp g stock spring

The company says roughly 1.5in drop, but you'll likely see around and inch for the first while, seems to take a long time for the springs to fully drop the car.

I have them, I agree with this statement ^
Mine have been in for a little over two years now and they finally look settled.
