    hey guys wanted to say hey have a 97 gtp i just picked up and trying to see what these cars are all about. ive always wanted one of these for a DD and got this one from a buddy. my main focus on cars are LS based and i have no idea about these cars/platforms at all. hope to learn about these in detail and would like to shoot for a mid 13sec efficient/reliable DD. any suggestions right off the bat before i start reading? have $1500-$2000 set aside for this car if needed. thanks, jim.

    Don't mod a 97. Leave it stock and stick to building LS motors.

    ahhh gotcha. i dont have any high expectations in all honestly but doing something a little different is whats most exciting to me. ive wanted one of these for a awhile and happy to have it. i will not get carried away but some decent modifications to reach my goal and be fun to daily drive is the plan.....thanks for that link btw cleared up alot of questions i already had and confirmed alot aswell.

    They're just different in little ways. Most people have no problem modding them.

    97's have quirks to them. i think he was just saying your in for a let down coming from LS engines.
