Sorry if this was posted before but i looked in the sticky section and didn't see any thing on this but I have a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix 3800 v6 134,200 miles and was going to buy some seafoam but after reaserching how to use it i'm more confused now than when i started. Some say 1/3 in the gas tank 1/3 in the oil 1/3 through the vaccum line others say 1 bottle in the gas tank and half of another in the oil and other half in the vaccum line. What is the proper way to do this and for those who have done it did you notice any diffrence in MPG, better idle?

Full bottle in 1/2 to full tank
Half bottle in oil 50-100 miles befor change
other half bottle have someone sit in car and keep it running and poor it into the brake booster hose slowly not to stall the car untill you get to like 1/16-1/8 of the bottle left then poor it in quick hoping to stall the car. If it doesnt have them shut it off immediatly cus you want the seafoam to soak into the carbon build up in your engine. Wait 20 mins and start the car. Let it idle a bit then start lightly reving untill your exhaust clears up

And for your question if you see any difference. Yes. I do this every 3-4 months. Put it this way my brother in law got a 96 corolla about a month ago and the thing was running like ****. The idle stuck at like 1800 rpms so we thought tps map and various other things to fix this problem and nothing. Untill we finnally gave up and said **** it lets run these bottles of seafoam threw it we picked up for it. As soon as got half way threw the bottle in the brake booster the cars idle dropped and started purring like a kitten and has been perfect since.

I think I read somewhere that you should change your spark plugs after running seafoam threw the brake booster hose.

Ive also heard you need to change the plugs, but people have done it without changing.

I've personally never done it, but Josh (Iceman669) has ran seafoam through the Brake Booster many times and hasn't changed the plugs, nothing happened.

I didn't change my plugs after running it thru the brake booster, and I also used the entire can in the brake booster. I use Chevron Techron in the tank whenever I do an oil change, so about every 3k.

Its really only if the plugs get fouled that you will be looking at having to change them. I did it in my car with no problems but changed the plugs a couple months later anyway.
