Hey all, just picked up my first Grand Prix, a high mileage one with 190k miles. The car drives/shifts pretty darn good. However, there is a few little things i would like to fix.

1.) Drivers side mirror glass is broken. The power mirror works fine, nothing appears to be broke besides the glass that is shattered. The owner actually included an extra piece of glass that i somehow managed to break trying to put the damn thing on. I was confused as to where those 4 metal lines go? And it was almost impossible to get both of the power mirror motor things to pop in.

2.) ABS light is on. What causes this?

3.) When i hit a bump, the back end feels like it goes left and right, almost like i go into a little drift. The back end is also extremely bouncy, probably time for new shocks?

That's about it really, obviously i need to figure out this mirror thing the most.

    2. Could be a wheel speed sensor which is in the wheel hub. Best bet is to get it scanned and identify which one is bad. Autozone cannot scan this for you you need someone with an abs scanner, preferably a TechII. There is a chance the EBCM could be bad as well but 9 times out of 10 just a wheel hub.

    3. Could be time for some new struts especially if they are original. I'd check the rear end suspension for play. Only way to see what's going on is to get under and look.

Welcome to the forums. I couldn't find any instructables on mirror install. Lets get some more info on what you're driving. And we like pictures

    2) there's also electrical connections in the wheel well along the control arms. If they're unplugged or have wire damage it'll trip the ABS light.

    3) check Tire air pressure, sway bar endlinks, and struts.

I will get some pics soon. The car isn't going to be something i mod or anything, just a daily driver. I have a 99 Trans Am that is my "fun" car.

I know next to nothing about these cars but apparently an ABS light isn't that uncommon. I was hoping the rear had shocks and springs, not struts.

It's freezing cold out now so i'll have to get under the car tomorrow, just figured i would introduce myself and throw a few n00b questions on the table.

The previous owner is bringing me a bumper that's already painted, apparently it was stuffed into a shed somewhere and can't get to it till it dries up a bit. Pretty awesome.

It's decent. The engine and tranny both run pretty good for a car of this mileage. I need to make a list of things i'd like to fix:

-Rear struts (car shakes, wobbles, hops like nobody's business)
-Gas gauge is messed up (sometimes reads empty, sometimes reads full, sometimes reads half full)
-Cruise control doesn't work (read somewhere that a burned out 3rd brake light can cause this)
    -Replace driver side mirror glass

Yeah i paid 1500$, i figured it was a solid deal since the tranny and motor both seem fine. Just needs about 400$ worth of random stuff and it'd be like new!

As far as the back end swaying back and forth. I notice that if I turn the car hard left and right it doesn't bounce around at all. It's only when I hit bumps. I wonder if the wheels are just getting off the ground a little because the shocks are shot? It feels like a trampoline
