Hello GPF, I am the owner of an 02 Monte SS from NJ. The sister car to the Grand Prix. And being so, I know we can have simular problems with our cars. When I got no answers from MCF I searched the net and found your forum. Hoping I can find answers here. B-)

    We'll allow it. Welcome!
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

    Oh..we allow it..

Sister though..I'm not sure. GP/Regal got the 3800 in 97, Monte/Lumina/Intrigue/Impala got it for a 1.5 year span in 98, then Monte got it back later on. Let's say cousin! LOL

    Wellcome!
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.

02 Monte SS, 3800 no mods Yet.
I had a question about codes that come up in my computer; I went to my local Chevy dealer, told him I had 3 codes. I recently replaced the TPS, for code P0122, Cam sensor P0366, TCC P0741. When I looked up the codes P0122 was what I expected. But P0366 and P0741 both refer to Cadillacs. So I went to my Haynes mamual for my car. The second 2 codes are not listed in the trouble codes. When I went to the dealer, the guy told me that Any GM car can come up with Any GM code? 25 years + of working on cars told me,
    "That ain't right!"
But I went back today and the Other Guy behind the counter said thats not possible! So I made my appointment with him. So my question was answered. The first guy wad a Dumb Dumb. I know I don't know Everything about cars and I am new to the 02 Monte SS, but you can't feed me Cow Chips!
Thanks for all the welcomes! I'm sure I will have other questions in the future. And I'll answer any that I can! B-)
