I have a 08 GXP and I'm having a few issues and I I'm just wondering what other GXP owners think about how there's rides. Mine rides like a stiff board, you can literally feel ever tiny bump in the road. It's not terrible I have rode in worse, I know someone who has a 06 and his rides way way way bad. I was told by some mechanic that the manufacture shocks and struts are just rough. I don't know why this would be true? but I don't want to go by brand new ones and it still ride like this so I thought I would ask ....

Second issue- The airbag light is on and the cruise doesn't work and the heads up display won't turn off. I believe I need a clock spring (Srs coil) has anyone else replaced there's? Is it extremely difficult or not so bad?

    Thanks!

Hlwfy man welcome to the site. Ur shocks may need to be rebuilt. Bilestine will rebuild them for way cheaper than new ones cost. Just go to their site and look around for their rebuilding link. As for the rest hopefully someone will help u cause I'm no mechanic and don't know how to fix

Ok thanks guys. By the way I'm a chick! I have pulled codes it's ran like 125 codes no joke. Navigation, air bag..... all kinds of ****. I thought about getting them rebuilt but then my other thought was if they ride stiff because they are supposed to then I would just put used struts form a GT or GTP on. My rear struts which are Belstine have a spacer or adjuster on them, which I thought was odd maybe it was sitting low before Idk ( i'm no mechanic just into cars)......

Yeah idk how to post pictures.lol

Welcome. It's good to have another GXP member.

The GXPs do have a firm ride, but it seems that your struts may be worn out if the ride is that bad. Check your tire pressure too. Too much air can make the ride firmer than necessary.

Mudneck Your tires are not all the right size. the fronts should be larger and the wheels on the front should be wider as well.

Having that many codes makes me wonder if there is an electrical problem causing all of that. Maybe a bad ground, bad connection, alternator going out, or a few other things come to mind.

As for your code problem Clear all of them and see what comes back or try leaving the positive off the battery overnight and see what codes come back it seems like youre PCM is either screwed up a loose connector to it or as mentioned above a ground was broken etc... try the easiest option first and work your way foward. Your rear shocks dont have a adjuster on top sounds like youre reffering to the actual strut mount itself. and as far as rebuilding the cost effectivness of shipping them to have them rebuilt should be around the same price to buy new ones. So if you think youre shocks are screwed just purchace new ones but bilsteins are firm shocks period.

It's not terrible, I have defiently rode in worse. It just wasn't what I expected when I got it home and it ready to drive. So I just wanted to check and make sure they were supposed to be firm..
I just took it to a friend who's a mechanic today and he ran it and the code was nothing big I think it orginally ran a bunch of junk just because well I have know idea why but, we got the air bag light off, and tested a bunch of wires for the cruise. He's thinking it's just the switch bad, were going to order one and see what happens. It's defiantly not the PCM we ruled that out along time ago. I'll post a pic of those struts later to show you what I'm talking about

My tires are size are what facoty suggest Rear:225/50R18 PSI: 30 and Front: 225/45R18 PSI:30

    Thanks guys!

Take the car to the dealer for the cruise issue tell them to update it to the newest GM software and that should take care of your cruise problem.
