I was offered to buy a 2001 Grand Prix GTP for $500. Good shape, but has a tranny problem. Shift Solenoid, will not auto shift from 1st to overdrive. You can manually shift it. Also the traction control device went out a year ago. Please help, I am looking to get this car for my son to drive

Traction control could be a simple fix like checking the wiring to the hubs, or replacing hubs. As for the tranny I don't know enough to say. U got picks?
    500 sounds good

I don't have pictures, I work with the guy selling it. I have seen it and it has been well taking care of. 125,000 miles, supercharged, leather, all looks great. I am reading horror stories about changing this shift solenoid.

If the rocker pannels and rear strut mounts are decent then go for it.

Yeah Colorado is another state that doesnt use salt on their roads, so cars don't rust out. If the paint is good no major dents or anything I would say sure, you can get a trans for about $300-$400.
