YES I'm new here, and I'm pro-GM vehicles (including all of its subsidiaries)

    decision is between:

    -04 GTP base
    -04 GTP COMP G package
    -02-03 GTP

    purpose of vehicle:
    70% racing and competition/show car
    10% business
    20% pleasure
    so about 90% pleasure

    my competition:
-04 A4 quattro with chip upgrade, turbo upgrade and more
-04 TL basic upgrades and juice
    -08 M3 factory
    -03 SL55 AMG factory
-03 S2000 with turbo, full exhaust, and juice

So could you guys give me some insight on whats best for what I am looking to do

are u looking to keep it mostly stock? If so id say get the comp-G, it has the better supercharger which creates more power. Modding wise id go with a 97-03 just for the fact you can find them a cheaper.

get a 97-03 then. Its a little eaiser to mod,-more people have 97-03's. I would personally get a 99-03 cuz when you do an intake you wont have to re mount the coolant resivoir tank to the strut tower, pluz i read somewhere that the 97-98's were the slower year according to wikopedia.

Welcome to the site!! Do some research and decide. All of those that you have on your list of picks are good cars. Your choosing between 2 generations, so its up to you on which one you like better.

The 97-03's have much more aftermarket support. I have a 2000 GTP and have no complaints. GP's are a very fun car.

Ask as many questions as you want on here. Someone will have the answer for you.

you said show car as well. Let me tell you the 98 Daytona is gorgeous and pictures don't do it justice. See one in person and you may be incredibly happy. Check on the 2000 Daytonas as well, or go with a 40th anniversary. Comp Gs are pretty nice as wel, but personally I like the 97-03 GPs better than the 04+

Welcome, 97-03 has better curves for show car appearance and there are more aftermarket parts and shop support for the 97-03 as well.

Welcome! I love my 99 GTP! The 97-03 is the way to go. Lots of aftermarket support, great lines and an agressive stance esp. when you lower them a bit.
