Hi everybody, as I was doing some research I came across this form and was very happy I did maybe I can get some answers to my issues that I am having. I have a Grand Prix 2008, and there is two issues that I have encountered, the first issue is I lubed up the door hinges few days ago and now when I start the car and drive off the car screen information tells me that the driver door is open, I open and close it again and still nothing, I just press the return button to clear the message and it comes on after awhile. Would it be possible that I covered the door sensor if so where is it located? The other issue that I have encountered is that whenever my heat or AC is on I hear a ticking noise coming from the dash, im assuming its the motor for the heat and the AC because when I turn off the Climate Control the noise stops and when the fan spins again I hear it, how can I resolve this issue and how do I get to the motor? One other thing is I hear wind noise coming from the passenger door, does anybody know where I can buy the rubber seal around the door as I am pretty sure that is the issue.

    Thank you

With the door trigger, you prolly just over greased it, and the fan you can just replace or take it out and find out if something is stuck in there or its damaged.

id think the clicking under the dash is a blend door actuator, the gears crack, then they click. how the heat? is it full blast heat on both side?

the wind sound, take a dollar bill, shut the door on it, try to slide the bill around through the rubber seal, if you hit a lose spot thats your air sound.

the door open light, maybe you greased it to much and the plungers not working now. but i dont know where that is on your car.

Thanks will have a look, the Heat works fine on both sides, If I go full blast the noise stops, it only happens on low speed.

So if one side is not blowing hot air then its the Blend door that is not working on that side correct?

yes. that and you hear a clicking. sometimes the actuator just quits all together and it stays locked on hot or cold.

also sometimes stuff gets pushed over the back of the glove box, envelopes and such, they land in the fan, and make noise.

yup, drop the for cover under the dash, then unbolt the glove box hinge, open the glove box and take it out.

So I took a look at the car today and the sound is coming from the fan, will take it apart later on and see what the problem is. On the other hand I did not grease the door only the door hinges so not sure why its saying the driver door is open while driving. I flip the switch on the door and the message didn't go off it was still saying it was open. Is there anything I can spray or do to make it work? So I know the grease didn't do it because I didn't grease that part. Thanks

Do you live in a cold weather climate? It's possible some water got down in there and froze the boot sensor... I'm reaching here, but the only real way to know is to take a test light and check the wiring.

Yes I live in Canada, it's weird because it does not happen all the time, but when it does happen it stays on.
