    I have a Pontiac grand prix with a 3.1 v6 and when I start it theres a little tick in the motor but goes away when I let it run ive changed the oil .. what can it be and how can I fix it thanks

    depending on miles it sounds like a lifter thats bleed pressure over night. you could try thicker oil next oil change. summers coming, 40 weights ok.

    its a 1995 the miles are 168211 I just bought it about a month ago my first pontiac after I bypassed the a/c condenser because that was making alott of noise then I noticed this tick its not loud just noticeable. is it a big problem to worry about

    if it goes away with in a few minutes when warming up the car, its fine. if it does it all day long id worry.

    Drain a quart of oil out and add a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil; it's in a clear red bottle. Your sticky lifter will free up. I had the same issue on my '98 and it hasn't come back.

    thank you so much its my first gp and already had 2 offers on it since ii got it last month it runs good and got it for a good price since theres some damage in the front driver side that is fixable ive been working on and the a/c condenser was a big issue so I bypassed that other than that things look good no rust anywhere I do need to order a spoiler and a few other things I need for it its just that annoying tick now .... ill give the mystery oil a try thank you again

    compressor is what you bypassed not the condenser.
