Hi all.. I just purchased (two hours ago) a 2000 Grand Prix. I have absolutely no knowledge about this car besides the fact that I love the looks and the feel of it. This car came with no owner's manual and I have have been unable to locate a (free) service manual for it either. There are a few things I would like to find out about this car for which printed info would be a blessing. Are there any manuals of that nature on this site? Things like wiring diagrams and mechanical specs and diy maintenence and repairs? Any advice as to where I might find this would be great. ****Chiltons and Haynes have never been of any use to me in the past so please dont send me on any wild goose chases with them..**** Lol.. Thank you very much in advance. I will probably be spending more time here than your moderators since that is usually my luck when purchasing cars. Lol

You can get the Pontiac official repair manuals, but they're not free. About $100 and has everything you want to know but were afraid to ask about!

I'm on my phone. Will post link later if interested.

Hi there.. We can typically tell you anything about your car that might come up. heck, we'll even tell you stuff that hasn't happened to you, but will.

As for a manual, seconds after I typed 2000 grand prix owners manual into google, it spit this at me. Enjoy.

    Hahahaha... Cracked me up!

Anyways, this forum is very active and hosts a wealth of info, as Bill mentioned. YouTube and Google should be your friends as well. Its amazing what you can learn to do these days via the net, lol.

I for one like the info at my fingertips. If you want them... Here's the link, welcome to the forum!

Woudn't you be a nicer guy if you linked him to the ebay GM ESI dvd for 1998-2010 Then any GM he goes near for years is covered.

Lol... Didn't know it was available.

I bought my year(s) individually, lol, not very cost effective.
It's all good though, thanks for that, bookmarked.

If you were the kind of guy that liked to torrent your bits, I bet there's a someone out there that hosts a GM 98-04 repair manual out of the kindness of their bandwidth. I'm sure a CD might be available on amazon or ebay, as well.

Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

Thanks guys ur all a hoot.. lol.. So I guess I needed to be more specific and add a few details.. I am a single mother that gets no child support or state financial assistance and my babies are kind of addicted to food and clothes and and electricity and other such comforts so cash is a very valuable and short commodity around here.. So, I guess the first thing I am needing is a service manual because I do all the repairs on my vehicles myself. I am already starting to feel like this car was a mistake (hopfully not). There is a shimmy that I have not been able to track down. I dont think its the tires or wheel alignment because it drives straight when I let the wheel go even at high speeds (80 mph). Thats for starters anyways.. Thanx all..

Well Hell, just holler about the problem. Most people will offer up thoughts, remedies, GM service manual directions and how-to information.
Could be an axle, ball joint, tie-rod or dented rim but a detailed description of probs gets the most hits http://www.grandprixforums.net/how-r...xle-39805.html (axle)

Having 2 wonderful children and paying child support makes me upset about your situation, sounds like you are a trooper.

Thank you so very much guys.. so I guess I need to move this discussion to the appropriate place and start a list of all my woes then?? Appreciate the input spazz but I am almost sure my problem is not with the wheels. Im feeling like it is engine or tranny related because it is worst when the car is cold after it warms to running temp I only notice it at higher speeds ( 80-90 mph) then it feels like the wheel area. Im probably not giving a very good description of the issue but I also know this is not the right place for this post. Is it bad form to repost this in the appropriate place? Again thank you.

You are new and your post count is low. If you reposted one or two questions (say made them more specific in the correct sections) I doubt us mods would notice or worry about it.
