Hey guys. Just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Aaron and I'm from Clarkston MI. I just purchased my 2008 grand prix GXP this last Tuesday. I gotta say I couldn't be happier with the car. I'll be throwing in upgrades weekly as I get paid. Hopefully I'll get this beast looking and running as good as some of the beauties I've seen on here.

I'm worrying about aesthetics and sound first. I'm waiting for someone to buy my last car so that I can dump that money into the GXP. Thinking about the inferno hood, rims, tints, and HID lights first. Then a Borla set up of some sort for the exhaust. I haven't found "the one" just yet. I've looked at 20+ videos and haven't heard anything that I thought was the right sound for me. I want a deeper rumble without any popping noises and not too much noise in the car *unless flooring it*. Then I'll probably get CIA, headers, and a tune. From what I've read there isn't too much you can do to these engines. Basically every thread just ends up saying "save up for the turbo". Maybe one day. Definitely not anytime soon though with the 5k price tag. We'll see though. If everything goes right I'll have about $3000 to throw at the gxp in the near future.

Any particular advice as to which I should purchase? I've also been reading that a shift kit might not be a bad idea either.

I know you wanna get it looking good but it won't matter when it becomes a pretty paper weight in your deiveway . Take care of that trans don't flush it though just fluid filter change/shift kit/trans cooler but I would highly recommend getting rid of dod getting spark plugs(NGK tr6) wires and installing a oil catch can. You wouldn't believe how much oil gets sucked through the rear valve cover because we don't have a pcv valve.

You can just tune out DOD correct? I just sold last car yesterday so I have about $3000 bucks to put into it. I would love suggestions as to which order I should go in.
