    Hey everyone,

I just got my first Pontiac about a month ago. It is a 2000 grand prix gtp. I just have a few questions to ask. anyone know any regular maintenance to do on the supercharger other than changing the oil? the car has 166,000 miles on it. Also when it comes to changing the rear speakers, is there any way to do it without removing the top panel and unhooking the back seats?

    Thanks
    Josh

As far as the SC, change oil every 30-40k, and if it sounds like rocks are inside of it change the coupler, i usually change mine every 60-80k.

Welcome. You will have to remove the entire rear seat to change the rear speakers. I messed up twice when putting mine in. The first time a washer fell on the speaker without me realizing, and it sounded terrible. Second time I realized that the cover that goes over the speaker didn't line up with the 3rd brake light. Point being, I got real good at removing the rear seats. I took them out, adjusted the cover, and reinstalled them in about 10 minutes, if that.

ive had the rear deck out of my car a few times, now, look for the 3 rd brake light wire, its on the pass side of the car under the rear cover, as you lift it, look for it. when you put it back, dont forget to plug it back in. sucks to take the seats back out just for a small plug.

That's the video I watched before attempting it. It would have been nice if he would have shown him actually removing/reinstalling the upper portion of the seat, and removing the cover over the speakers. I had problems with that because I didn't know which way to pull to remove it. The upper portion of the seat has to be literally raised up on the angle that the seat is on. Two people doing that really helps. Putting it back in and getting all 4 hooks in simultaneously was the most time consuming part of my speaker R&R. That's really where 2 people helping makes a difference. Taking my time and not breaking anything paid off though.

The rear seat it's held down by 2 15(?)mm bolts. The top just slides down onto hooks. I'm not sure if the video covers this but the seatbelt connectors are held on by those same bolts. It's definitely difficult to line up all the hooks but I found that as you stated going at an angle and lining up one side at a time.
