    Hey guys,

my bosal cat **** out and i've decided to order a ZZP Downpipe. I want to spray vht on it then use header wrap on it and then spray it again. i did this with my crossover pipe 2 years ago and its held up awesomely. My only issues are will it promote cracking? is it worth it? if it's worth it, what may i benefit from wrapping it? also, i don't have the funds to get it ceramic coated and I have a 3.8 n/a if this helps. any help will be appreciated. thanks!

Just bolt it on and leave it.

Using header wrap on it would be dumb and coating it is pointless, the new metal will out live the car.

That's an awful lot of effort for zero to negligible gains.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

I agree with this, but doesn't the wrap lower temps on or around the down pipe/ exhaust tunnel?

Why would anyone care about that anyway?

The car comes stock with zero wrap and just some junk piece of tin metal for heat shielding. Yes the headers and downpipe section reach well over 400ยบ and its never harmed anything in the past.

I don't care, just wondering and seeking knowledge.

jesus christ, seems like some tension on this thread. I was just curious is all. I was also told that wrapping the downpipe helps with some drone. don't know if its really true.
