Hey everyone, well this is my first real post on the Grand Prix Forums. Guess I should of been here a long time ago, since I have had so many Grand Prixs. I am having an issue with my remote start on my '08 Grand Prix GXP. The lights flash as normal, dashboard lights up, key chime goes off, i hear a couple of clicks.... and nothing. Anyone have any clue on what the problem is?

I would check the wiring and connections at the starter. They may be corroded causing no starting power.

If that does nothing, then you might want to stop into a gm dealer and have them check it out. Since it is the factory system, it would be easier and might be less costly for you to keep messing with things.

    Good luck

IF, you get the work done or more than likely they will charge a $60 diagnosis fee.

    jmgntl,

I’m sorry you are experiencing this issue with your vehicle. “99PGPGT” offers a good suggestion. Another may be an issue with the hood latch switch. These are just suggestions and are not meant as a diagnosis.

I recommend having the vehicle inspected by a certified technician for an official diagnosis.

If you need assistance locating a technician near you, please PM me your zip code for a listing.

If you have a check engine light, the remote starter will not work. In that case, have the codes read and let's help you fix the issue.
