i searched over some threads on this topic but i have to ask some questions..
im looking into some exhaust mods, considered full system however would much rather spend less.

i know headers are the best way to get more out of what i do , so does anybody know where to find headers for the 3.8 that do NOT delete the catalytic converter, in canada its required?

im also considering magnaflow mufflers, with dual resonated tips.
would the resonated tips and stock resonator be enough to dampen the noise at cruising speeds, or would a swap for a mbrp res be benificial?

will any of these combitations give me a power boost without the headers?
stock headers + stock res + magnaflow mufflers + res tips
    or
stock headers + mbrp res + magnaflow mufflers + res tips
    or
    standard tips?
    or
headers + mbrp res + magnaflow mufflers + which for tips?

    thanks for any advice.

No exhaust modification is going to give you any power except a bigger dp, plog, or headers. You can have a cat welded in.

    Dp? Plog?
Are you aware of any headers which don't delete the cat?

Like Dan said above, You can have a cat welded in.

Here is what i suggest, i swear i write this every week:

Borla ProXS mufflers, Glasspack in place of resonator, Headers and buy a cat to get welded in its place.

SSAC and SD headers are $220 shipped to your front door, then buy a cat and have it welded in.

    Or

SLP headers have the option to have a catted Downpipe but they are $750+ new.

    Or

Just buy a catted Downpipe from Zzp if you dont plan on modding the car but those almost cost as much as SD/SSAC headers.

Now im sure your going to ask where you can buy SD/SSAC headers, before you ask, here you go:
    SD Headers - http://www.ebay.com/itm/STAINLESS-SS...8dc2e4&vxp=mtr

    SSAC Headers - http://www.ssautochrome.com/level.itml/icOid/1886

    SLP Headers - http://www.3800performance.com/Merch...roduct_Count=0

    ZZP Downpipe - http://shop.zzperformance.com/store/...Downpipes.aspx
'97 GTP - Stage 2 Heads, 90# Springs, 1.9 Harland Sharp Rockers, Gen V, 3.0, Intake, N* TB, LQ4, FSIC, 10.5mm Wires, Poly Mounts, SLP Headers, Borla Exaust, Built Trans - SOLD*

    '08 G8 GT - 6.7L 408CI Stroker, 239/254 Cam, Fast Intake, 102mm TB, CAI, Full Exhaust.

You might have to get a tune if you get a high flow cat as it might set a check engine light. Check into will at overkill, he does in car tuning.

I looked into zzperformance like Dan suggested ( thanks) they offer a high flow u-bend delete t.o.g cat'ed downpipe made for coming off aftermarket headers.
So I think I'm going to go with the SSAC headers, into the zzp t.o.g cat'ed downpipe with o2 sensor, through magnaflow mufflers and out.

May consider adding either a resonator or resonated tips after.

    Thanks for all the help.

SSAC or speed daddy headers can't work with the ZZP catted downpipe. Those headers have there own downpipe and bolt straight to the cat-back system. You will have to buy a quality cat and clamp it in the spot for the converter in the downpipe section or get it welded in place.

It's not the standard downpipe, it only connects to an aftermarket header setup... " will not mount to stock exhaust manifold"

The tog dp doesn't fit any headers except togs which are ridiculously expensive. Your airaid tb spacer was useless before you even put it on. Your stock tb flows fine.
