Hello, i am new to this forum, i have a 2002 GTP and am kind of tight on money because i bought this car all stock except i believe its a 3.4 pulley that was on it, and it obviosly broke a rod or something because of no supporting mods at all, im hoping i just spun a bearing, so i am currently in the process of rebuilding it and i know i cant just leave that pulley on there with no mods when i get it going again, i am kind of on a small budget so what my question comes down to is if i get the modular pulley system and get the 3.6 pulley...will i be safe running a 3.6 with a 3'' downpipe, intense pcm, autolie 104, 180* thermostat, and a fender well intake?...i just dont have money for headers and really dont want to buy the $200+ scan tool right now anyway to keep the 3.4...so with those simple mods be good enough for a 3.6 to be safe?

    thanks for any help!

Should be ok but headers are only $200 how are you going about rebuilding? You likely have a chipped piston

Yes those supporting mods should be fine ONLY if your engine is good working order. And agree that you probably chipped a Piston, pull the heads and post the carnage.

My aunt is a mechanic and is helping me go about rebuilding it, we just got the engine out, and now i just have to start tearing everything apart..hoping that i dont need a whole new block...i just found out about the front powerlog and rear ported manifold from zzp, i might do that and still keep the 3.6 to be safe untill i can afford a scan guage to check my kr...does anybody know if a simple shop scan tool or anything can scan for kr?

You can buy a set of headers of ebay.

Lots of people roll with these, they work good, you should snag them up:
Racing Manifold Header Exhaust Grand Prix GTP Buick Regal Impala Monte Carlo 3 8 | eBay

And for scanning KR, if you have an Android phone you can buy an App call "Torque" its like $5 and youll also need the Torque OBDII attachement, likes $25 on ebay. Once you buy it, change some settings (google how to cause i dont remember) then uninstall it, then re-install it. Then you can successfully check for KR rather than spending the money on an Aeroforce.

Also since you're new and all... check over these and make sure the car is good to go before you throw money at mods and break something else.

If you do the SD headers pcm plugs you could almost run a 3.4 pulley but should definitely be able to run a 3.5.
