Been around here lurking for awhile, and decided to sign up last week. Just wanted to say thanks to the many people who have contributed to the forum with their knowledge, it really helps. I just recently picked up my first car, a 1999 GTP. Got it for a good price, just needs an oil pan gasket (dreading that), and possibly a rear bumper re-spray if I want to get picky with it, it's got the typical stone chip flaking. Not too crazy about the "gold" color, but it'll do. It had a new supercharger, tires, and brake pads. Obviously it has been cleaned since the pictures, and now has the floor mats put in. Planning on making an intake, and putting in a radio receiver with auxiliary, as well as doing what I mentioned above. Very pleased with it so far! Thanks a ton guys.

The color is a love/ hate relationship, but it grew on me. The color will stand out once you get it tinted. Clean ride and interior. Welcome to GPF and the gold car club.

Thank you. That's what I'm thinking/hoping as well, that tint will help.

Tint will help a lot, if you get a chance look through my progress thread in my sig. Soon I will have a gold Super Charger, haha. Also when you get a chance start a Members Ride thread for yourself.

Nice plans, Jtiger! A GTP should really be a nice improvement from the GT, certainly some more pep! I'm not sure what was wrong with the SC... the PO was an older guy and had all work done by the dealer, which, the dealer said he needed a new one, so he agreed. Weather or not it needed one, hard to say, I doubt it, I know of many people who have gotten screwed by dealerships for getting unnecessary things done to their vehicles.

Got bored, sanded the tips last night, will probably either polish them or powder coat them soon after I deal with the crappy rusted straps holding them on. It's nice having all the equipment to powder coat things as needed

    Thanks 1ATony!

Jtiger, thank you. I just started out with 120, then went to 220, and finished with some steel wool. They look decent, probably won't be on the car much longer anyway... I've been liking those stainless dual tips on eBay, they flow really well with the body lines, IMO.

Put about 500 miles on the car this past couple weeks, love it! Will be put in storage soon for the winter too. Have too many projects going on at the moment to dig further into this...

I have the same interior and hate it cause there's not much you can do with that color that looks good IMO.

    Thanks guys.

txslow6, I agree very much about disliking the color. I really wish it was black, which is doable, it would just take a lot of money to get all new trim, seats, etc. Oh well...

Exactly why I have yet to do sh1t with my interior. One day I will go to the JY and pic up spare interior parts to paint, rather get the motor done up though LOL.

I hear ya guys. I've been browsing Craigslist. Actually came across some charcoal seats and all 4 door panels for $200 and the center console for $35 and other misc trim pieces are easy to find. I figure I could live with the headliner being tan as I've seen a GTX with charcoal interior and oddly enough had a tan headliner, didn't look terrible. Problem I'm having is actually finding the dashpad. Only alternative I found is purchasing a dashpad cover from JC Whitney. However, I have yet to see pics of what they look like installed.

Hey Bro LOL, we both are from TEXAS and you know what any car looks like with a dash pad on HAHA. Guess I have visited to many flea markets. Although you might not know, just sayin that I have a lot of friends from south o the border who put dash pads on. You can still see some of the original dash, not worth it.
