Hello fellow Grand Prix owners. Was wondering if someone could help me out. I need to replace the heater core in my 2006 3800engine and can not get the core cover off even though I've removed all the screws from it. Seems there are alot of what looks like plastic welded things holding me back but not sure how to remove them without breaking the cover. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

did you take the console out? if not take it out. on the bottom there are the plastic vents to the back seats, they run under the rug to the front seats, you need to pop them out, and all of the damn little screws that hold it all together.

after you can get to the core. there is also one small bolt on the driver side, follow the core pipes to the fire wall, its holding the core pipes to the fire wall.

before you take it out, you will want to blow out some of the coolant, take both hoses off the engine, and blow into one hose. this is to keep from spilling anymore inside the car when you take it out.

and its always a good idea to fill the core and hoses back up, then hook it back up to the engine, that way you dont have a air bubble in the core.

Thanks for the tips. I'm sure they'll come in handy if I ever get to that part. Lol. What has me stumped is the core cover itself. All the screws are out and it still won't budge.
