Hello my 97 grand prix gtp has recently started jerking and shifting a little hard through every gear after about 30 to 45 mins of driving. Other than that it shifts fine. Can anyone tell me what is going on with it? Is it a censor or something? My engine light has not come on at all during this. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

You won't get a CEL for this. Most likely if you have it scanned for trans. codes by a higher end scanner than you find a Autozone you will find that the PCS (pressure control solenoid) is commanding max pressure. Take a quick search through the 4T65E forum and see what you can find.

what kinda of miles you got, it could just need a filter and fluid change. clogged filters dont work well. can cause low line pressure and stuff.

hows your fluid look? is it red? or dark and burnt smelling? trans ever been serviced as far as you know?

Once it gives you a harsh shift. Drive to an Autozone etc that can scan it. Do not turn the ignition off. (a buddy in the car helps) then have it read.

The code for P1811 should be current.
I drink..so consider that when reading my posts.
