I was just curious, as to what really defines a car as being 'Ricer' ? I see it associated with the use of body kits, and other obnoxious features. I personally have seen some very disturbing GP's, but I mean if they want their car like that, what difference does it make to us? Body kits can't be terrible obviously Fiberglass isn't the best choice, but I'm sure there are some decent Duraflex bumpers that don't necessarily promote this "Ricer" feel. Anyway I just wanted to get an idea of what does/doesn't define a car as Ricer.

at least in the movies those cars are fast.......the ones you see all body kitted up, well most are all show and no go, and ugly most of the time. all the ricer kids around here do bad work to, the car look like its a work in progress till they junk it.

the only cars i'd "rock" from any of them movies, would be the camaro and the charger from 2 i think? the two "year one" cars.

the rest are way to gay in my eyes to even think about parking it in my driveway, never mind seen driving it lol

Yea, I can see the irony of paying +$400 for a body kit, then not having any actual performance. Though on the other hand some people on here have enough invested into there GP's performance, that they could easily wear a body kit. Of course, I don't really have anything against body kits, but more the people who don't take the time to properly install/paint/detail them.

Mismatched multicolored body kits were a big thing in the late 90's through the early 2000's around here. I don't see as much of it locally anymore.

I've only seen GP's with body kits on cardomain. It's odd, because Grand Prixs are overly common here. (Sioux City, Iowa) At the same time, it's rare to see a Grand Prix without an F1 hood here aswell.

Putting an aftermarket hood on your 3.4 pullied grand prix is a perfect example.

Looks "fast", but is painfuly slow.

Rice rocket was a Jap bike.

Rice burner was the little 4 cylinder cars. That may be where the term originated, but that is not what it means anymore,

Rice Burners or Ricers are just cars from Asia..usually the ones that get insulted with that name are slow and have a 4 cylinder (yet some people think they are awesome and fast stock, like the civic/integra/sentra and so on..). Rice is just another thing people say for it..they even eventualy came up with a cute meaning behind it..Race Inspired Cosmetic Enhancment.

There are American ricers too. They are not just cars from Asia.
