welcome where you from in illinois and does it have roof rails
they were only on some daytona's and the 40th anniversary editions
Matt, yes it has the roof rails. fivefingerdeathpunch, it is missing real bad. I drove it 5 miles from his house to mine tonight and anytime i would give it over 15 percent throttle maybe, it would start flashing the CES light which was already on. it's a pretty clean car with normal wear and tear for being 12 years old.
ill buy the rails from you
OP try replacing coil packs
thanks nick, but im going to hook it up to the scanner tomorrow so i can see exactly what i am starting with. Im going to replace the plugs and wires tomorrow and hook it up then to see what happens. Matt sorry im not looking to sell them i like the way they look.
where are u from in illinois
Is the car stock? Hopefully it is.
And yes, buy new ac delco stock replacment plugs and some wires and figure out which code the car is throwing.
matt im from Hillsdale, it's about 15 minutes from the quad cities. and yes the car is bone stock. im planning on using it as a daily driver while i locate another long block to build the engine that i really want. But to do that i need to fix this engine problem first.
well didnt even bother hooking it up to the scanner, it's got a bad LIM leak right by the elbow, it doesnt have any coolant in the oil, but it explains why it would be missing. have to get the gaskets and replace them this weekend anyone have any ideas on how long it takes to do it? I just did the LIM on my grand am and it took about 8 hours. i guess it's good cause it has a bad oil leak from the valve cover!!! might as well replace it while im in there along with a new thermostat.
Welcome!
