Hello everyone! My name is Alex and I just bought my 1999 Grand Prix GTP less than 2 weeks ago. I live in Seattle, WA and would love to make some friends who share the same passion.

I will post pictures of my car later on. The car has 90,000 miles on it and is pretty stock, as far as I know. First project? Rebuild the supercharger... it's making a horrible loud rattling noise when accelerating

Welcome! Is Dalakian your last name?? If so, "barev"! If not.....disregard that last statement and congrats on your purchase! You'll find everything you need to know about your car on here.

Dalakian is my last name, yes! However, I do not know what barev means lol. But thanks anyways! Once I fix the rattling issue I will be very happy with my GTP!

Probably needs a new Supercharger coupler. It's an easy fix!

    Per ZZP's site...

A worn coupler will cause a rattling noise at idle.

We have over engineered our coupler to provide years of trouble free use on cars with smaller than stock pulleys.
    Higher strength than OEM.
    Better resistance to thermal fatigue.
Oil impregnated material for reduced friction.
Option 1: 1 bottle of ZZP oil or if you order GM oil it will take 2.

Option 2: Coupler install kit: Includes a 60cc syringe and a tube to suck out the old oil so you dont have to pull the snout off and let the old oil drain down the front of the engine block.(It will smell horrible for days) It also includes a small tube of silicone to reinstall the snout housing.

    ZZPerformance - Supercharger Coupler #ZZ-SCCPLR,

    How to replace:

How to replace an M90 snout coupler without removing the entire blower

I hope that helps you & welcome!

Rattling on hard acceleration? Does it feel like the car loses power? Mine did that with a clogged cat.

Are you not Armenian? Or do you just not speak it?

1ATony, thanks! will post pics soon!!

Oxfire, here's the video 1999 Grand Prix GTP - loud noise when running - YouTube
It doesn't feel like I'm losing power, it just sounds horrible lol. The weird thing is that sometimes it rattles, sometimes it doesn't but 9 out of 10 times it does. Still pulls pretty strong though. Probably could use a set of new wires and spark plugs, but I'm not sure which ones to get, honestly. ZZP sells a broad variety.

RareGMFan, my father is Armenian but I do not speak a word of it Nice catch though!

Wires Stock or MSD's. Plugs Autolite 605's for stock or Autolite 104's if modded to 3.4 pulley.

Awww. Well, for future reference, "barev" (bah-rev) means hello, or greetings. And what ryno said on wires and plugs. Stock wires are MORE than adequate, same with plugs if you're stock. And you can pick them up at your local store/dealer. Don't need to get them through ZZP.

Alright, I now know 1 word in Armenian lol
And stock plugs cost $10/piece at NAPA while they seem to cost only $14 for all 6 (if I'm reading it correctly) NGK - NGK Spark Plug #
Also, I can't seem to locate the wires and the o2 sensor seems awfully expensive...
