I bought my 2000 Grand Prix GTP in January and the mechanic who inspected it said that I have a clanking noise in the right rear side and that I would need to get a new strut in about a year. The clanking noise is very annoying and it seems its coming from the right rear side. It clanks when I go over any bumps or uneven ground, also if I am breaking/driving slowly. Well two weeks ago my left rear strut gave out so I found a new mechanic and he replaced my two rear struts and mounts and got all my tires replaced. I got my car back yesterday and drove it around for a bit and its still clanking although I replaced my struts and mounts. So I have been doing research and found a couple things it could be:
    • Worn sway bar/bushings/links
    • Control Arm
    • Heat Shield
    • Loose Exhaust hanger
    • Mount plate

So those are some of the things I have found. I have a feeling it has to do with my sway bar but I just need to get this figured out. Yesterday I checked if my wheel baring was loose or broken but its not. Any ideas?

Possible sway bar links, could be trailing arms aswell.

Thank you. I was thinking it was the sway bar links as well. I am putting it on jack stands tomorrow and I am going to look at it. It's such an annoying sound.
