Hi just bought a 98 GTP purple coupe and although I have owned several Pontiac's over the years 68 GTO ,78 Trans Am ,80 sunbird , 91 grand am ,this is my first supercharged car ,I do have two turbo charged mustangs as you can tell from my user name a 1984 Turbo convertible http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2650572/1984-ford-mustang
and an 84 SVO that I may never get the time to fix ,a friend had this gtp and it has over 200,000 miles but it has a new transmission and runs like a top so I could not resist getting it ,the only issues I have found so far is the sunroof is stuck with the rear slightly open but it tries to open and close so it would seem the motor is functional and the passenger window gets stuck down and needs to be helped to close ,but no smoke from the tailpipe and it seems to be in fine condition mechanically speaking .
even though it has been a long time since I have owned a Pontiac I was quite upset when they closed the division and knew at some point I would buy one again but never really thought of this model kind of thought I would buy one of the newer GTO's but after driving this for a couple of days I actually think it has found a home ,I do not plan on modding it much but want to fix the couple of things wrong with it and just enjoy driving it ,even if my kids will not give the Barney the dinosaur jokes a rest LOL
