You might be ok, but could be right on the verge of needing a upgrade. I always look at it that I'd rather be safe than sorry. If your gonna put the money into the motor, might as well put it in the tranny. Rather have a good built tranny that may outlast the motor, than have a good built motor the explodes the tranny. Just my 2 pennies worth though.

Thanks again my friends This is a great forum, been reading all kinds of different post here and there, I purchased this gp from a lady I never met but she lives behind me, It was seafair here in seattle, Wa. and the torchlight parade was 10 hrs away on this particular day, my Oldsmobile calais quad 4 broke down the previous day, The lady had a for sale sign on car for $4,000.00 with 115,000 miles on it, I told her I needed a car tonight and she agreed to let me pay 600.00 a month untill paid for. And let me have the car without a payment. I knew it was a little steep, but no one else would give me that kind of sale, and let me have there vehicle without a payment . so I felt fortunate. My wife and kids love the car. it was on a car lot, march of last year (still had paper covers on floor mats and evidence of car lot sales sticker on drivers side window), so I called the place and gave them the vin and they said it sold for $5,600.00 w/105000 miles on it. The only problem I noticed so far is the fan resistor being bad, preventing the fan blower and trip computer from working, the owner before her put a toggle on resister feed, to turn blower and trip computer on.
anyway thanks for the great welcome. I see a lot of 97 gps and gpt on here, hope the se is a good car.
