Just picked up a black '04 GT2 loaded with 37K miles. Interior and mechanically it's in great shape... exterior is another story. It's in need of some love, so I'll be working on that. I had an '87 Grand AM V6 back in the day and always been a fan. The GP is to become my daily driver so my '02 Pewter Camaro SS vert can be my occasional driver/weekend toy. I needed a 4 door for a child seat and wanted something that wasn't boring.

In any case, just saying 'hi'. I'll be lurking around.

Maybe after I can get after it with my PorterCable. I'm a detailing freak and this car is crying for attention. I think it spent 8 years parked under an oak tree in a grass field in the Florida sun. I'll be doing alot of reading on here.

Here's a link to some pics of the SS in the meantime.

I was not impressed when I went to put a baby seat in the back of my car. The hooks are pretty far back under the rear seat cushion as compared to a few other vehicles I have done the same thing on. The drivers seat had to be moved forward a bit to fit the baby seat behind it and lastly the handle on the baby seat had to be lowered to even get it in the door. To the OP report back how you make out with your child seat. The baby seat is rated up to 35Lbs if that helps give an idea of how big it is.

Thanks for the welcomes! Spent the afternoon washing and clay barring the GP. Sunday I'll begin polishing. Already fixed the the rear valance the was loose on the right side and have some new hood struts on order as the hood nearly took my head off. Upper dash panel is cracked in a couple of places, so found an NOS one at GM parts direct to order. Plenty of other little things needing attention, but keeps me out of trouble.

We've moved up to the forward facing child seat a few months back as the boy just grew too big to face backwards anymore, plus he had a taste of facing forwards and that was that. The car seat went in OK. My biggest problem was the child seat itself as the latch strap became folded and stuck in the adjuster. I was just going to go with the shoulder harness to mount it in, but found out the GP's rear belts don't lock tension at the buckle, only at the reel so couldn't get the belt tight enough to snug it in good. So, some pliers and pursuasion and I fixed the latch belt on the seat and was good to go.

The boy loves the sunroof. Spend the ride home on Friday opening and closing it for him. LOL.
