I got my gp gt last week and started to rip the engine apart to replace the head gaskets. The rear manifold what a pain in the but. I guess I can't complain.to much I got the car for free and the only thing wrong is the head gaskets. Anyone have any pointers on what else I should replace sence its already apart.__

Not the head gaskets? Just the lim gasket.

Might as well replace the valve seals as well.

    Welcome! Timing chain and tensioner.
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

Lower intake manifold (lim) gaskets are what go bad not head gaskets. Hope you didn't pull head already because they don't go bad. Lots of how to do it on this forum. Use aluminum replacement gaskets instead of plastic ones. Gm switched to aluminum in 05 or 06.
