hi i just bought this 2000 gtp with 158,xxx miles the guy had it from 2002 has k&n cone (needs a cleaning bad)neon lights (under glow) blue don't all work though only the front one has a sub(stock deck though) a brand new interstate battery and he always had it changed with valvoline syn oil (looked under the oil cap no sludge in sight ) also got a brand new set of 18 in american racing rims with it still in the box. how i got it i was hanging some sheet rock and it was at the house next door i went and talked the guy one day about it i saw it was sitting for a few days from the snow it had on it turns out he was planning on trading it in soon i talked him in to selling it to me for 1200 bucks (think i got a good deal?) but before i bought lifted it up looked at it a little needs a sway bar (its snapped), wheel bearing(on the drivers side feels loose), rack and pinon (can't really turn right) how hard is it to do a rack on gtp's i did one on my 98 malibu is it at all like that, the tranny is leaking the pan is missing a few bolts fluid is clean and a low but still still above the add line it shifts good, has stock shocks in it (should i replace them ? they don't bounce but one of them make some noise), needs brake. so it dose not drive smooth or stop smooth but it still hauls. the inside is clean has original floor mats but dose not blow heat on the drivers side, works fine on the passenger side (anyone know why this is and how to fix it). had some ?'s about parts though i found a used rack for 20 bucks compaired to 200 for a new think i would be ok with the used one? and what kind of plugs and wires are the best for it was going to get ac delco irdium plugs and 7mm bosch wires. want to do them soon it started running really bad after 2 days light came on its a misfire on cylinder 3 i think its the stock plugs and wires in their now.. i also have a 98 malibu with 226,xxx 3.1l  94 k1500 with 135,xxx 4.3l and i just got a 2005 chevy impala with 85000 3.4l i was going to buy this gtp to fix and sell it but i am really enjoy it and think i will keep it and sell one of my other cars sorry for the long post thanks in advance for any advice

Rack should be about the same as a malibu. Pull the underglow off and you'll be much happier. You'll be happy how much easier it is working on a 3800 than a 31/3400.
