Hey Everyone, I came across this site in a google seach and I Decided to Register because theres alot of good info on this site and I like how the 88-86 Grand Prix is mentioned and info is available on here unlike a few other Forums Ive checked out.. Anyways I have a 1995 Pontiac Grand Prix Se That I bought From MY Friends Father last year in Jan 2011, Ive had It a year now and Im just starting to do some stuff to it just to have fun with the car u know? lol.. Im gonan put some pics up later on

A little story about My Grand Prix and How I got it...

My friends dad is the Original Owner of the 95' Grand Prix. He bought it in Sept 1995 as a year end Clearence. The car was Made In January of 1995, so it truly was a year end Clearence lol.. The Car has been babied its entire life. Has Never seen a Accident, has never seen vandalism and has absolutly no rot or rust on the body and everything is Original to it except for the Transmission..The Trans Died in 2002 with 52,000 miles.

I Met my Friend When we went to middle school And since then Ive always wanted that car. I always liked how the Headlights were Recessed into the bumper and just the way the car and tail lights looked. Finally I got My license and I wanted that car sooo bad...He wouldnt sell it to me So I found another one In Queens that My mom Bought me for my high school graduation Present. It was a 1994 Grand Prix GTP with the 3.4L DOHC engine..Fully Loaded with everythingg, Sunroof, leather, Hud, Ext temp and fuel eco Gauge and the bluish teal color with 75k... I had it 6 months and the trans went, then a list of probs. so I bought another car and moved on...

Last year I was Walking in the Neighborhood with my mom and we would always pass My Friends house. And the 95' Grand prix I wanted soo bad since middle school was always sitting in the Driveway.. After many passes and seeing it sit, I asked my friend what his Dad was doing with it, and he asked his dad.. After a few weeks go by I run into him as me and mom are passing by and I ask him if he wants to sell it, he said " Me and my wife were thinking of Donating it, and if I dont do something with it soon shes just gonna call a tow truck to come get it.. I dont want to see the car go down like that" ... We talked a bit, I asked him how much, and we settled for $1,000.00 ... I payed him and took the car home..

The Exterior Color is like a hunter green pontiac calls " Dark Teal Metallic" , The Interior is Tan and it has the Gold Cross Lace Rims and the " aero Pkg" lol ... I bought it with only 80,700 miles in jan 2011 and a year later I think it only has 86,000 miles.. I try to keep the miles down and I Only Drive it every now and again...Its Crazy, the car I always wanted as a young stupid teen I Finally got, years later..

I started making alot of Youtube Videos of the car.. Alot of " how to" videos and videos of me Gutting the Interior cleaning it and putting it back in and various other things like installing a Factory HUD and Temp/trip computer.. I guess I see why it was a left over, it really didnt have many options , But Now it does lol.......Recently Ive taken a Big Interest In making the car more appealing and fun to drive, I stumbled across this site cause Im looking to get rid of its engine for a 3800 Supercharged V6, Lowering the Front end a inch or two, put some nice rims on it and get the Lambo doors for it...Im in debate with my friend about the engine because he tells me to Turbo a 3800 and dont go supercharger.. But, that will soon be a topic on here once I get settled in lol..

So anyways, thats my story about My GP and what I want to do with it. If anyone has any info on the engine swap or any Ideas please let me know. cause Im really interested in makin this car cooler then it already is..

The prices of used turbo kits are pretty good and a newer 3800 naturally aspirated is easy to find cheap and low mileage. I'd do it.

hey nice car man. i have a 95 se as well. any 3.8 s/c will be a big improvement over what we have now lol. if you do plan to swap, there are some modifications that you need to. somebody kind of recently swapped a 3.8 into their older lumina. maybe somebody else can find the thread....i cant seem to find it lol. i know you would need to cut into the firewall a little bit in order to fit the downpipe for the exhaust. and you would need to get a stronger transmission because our 4t60's are just not gonna cut it lol. but good luck if you do decide to do it!

other good forums for the 88-96 are w-body.com, and gpona.com. they have a larger 3100 community and can help us with more specific needs.

Hey man! Is youe GP the same color as mine?? Nice rims lol.. If you happen to come across that thread with the 3800 swap Please let me know.Ive actually done alot of research on that, and it looks like a really fun project to do.. I am going to have to hunt down alot of parts and electrical components. Since I will be going OBD II I need to find the Trip Computer from the 1996 Model year of our cars, because my existing trip computer is 1995 " OBDI " and it will not function... I am in the process of looking for a Spare engine Cradle from a W Body as a start Point. I want to get it powder coated, and begin from the ground up.. I havent Quite chose my setup yet as to which 3800 year I want to go with, and if I want to do a top end swap on a non SC 3800 or just go Turbo..My friend who Builds Race cars Is stressing me to go turbo cause its easy and I will see better results..

Ive done some cool stuff with this car.. I just finished a HID conversion for our cars using the existing Headlights. Its uploading to youtube now, and I plan on sharing it with everyone as soon as its done uploading...Check my Channel out ive dont quite a few projects to this car already, like installing a HUD trip computer, Cleaning the interior etc..

good to hear you know some of your stuff! and that HID conversion is something i need to check out. i found a thread thatll tell you how to do the OBD1.5 to OBD 2 swap. How To: 3100 OBD1.5 to OBD2

as far as power goes if you turbo it you will see alot more power. i mean it depends on what you want really. do you want a reliable daily driver that can crank out 300 whp? or do you want a less reliable car that will make 350+ whp? either way it wont be too cheap...
