Hold up.. out of your realm...it doesn't have to be. Does her AC work? If so..turn on the defroster to cold and see if the fans pop on. That would mean the fuse is good and they are working. If not..take a look at the fuse for them.
Hmm not sure if her air works, i'll test this out when she gets home. Turn the defroster on? and set it to cold? does it need to sit for a certain amount of time? I just figured they'd pop on after letting the car sit for 20 to 30 mins, aand the temp gauge sky rocketing and the fans not coming on. it starts to smell like burnt or hot coolant.Quote:

Not uncommon for them to Shatner on the earlier models, but since you're doing the control arms too, get 97-03 / 06-08 lower control arms and a solid sway bar for 97-03 / 06-08. And poly endlinks.Quote:

Not so common. I don't recall ever seeing them work half way. They do or don't. Plugs were only good for 100k, so those are definitely toast.Quote:

Well the plan is to get it back to when it left the dealership running condition. Exhaust and plugs and wires will fix that issue. The fan thing, i tried what you said while driving this morning, but i didn't have time to get out and look as she needed it for work, and it's raining outside.
The car stops amazingly now though.. not quite STi style, but it stops way better, i notice the difference. The girlfriend noticed it to yesterday while on the high way.
Anyways plans are just to get it caught up with maintenance.
When is the water pump and timing belt due? Rough estimate on the cost of that at a dealer? I won't bother to try that on a gm car i'll blow it up.
water pump...when it leaks.
timing chain probably somewhere in the 100k mile or over area. the chain tensioner wears and eventually will break and take the chain with it.
My opinion of the chain differs from Nicks.. I see 200K mile motors with their stock chains w/o issues. Heck..I knew a guy running nitro at 286K stock chain. The dampener/tensioner really doesn't take a beating with stock valvetrain.
My current Regal is at 194,XXX on it's stock engine with stock chain and dampener. I upgraded the springs to LS9 and put on rockers at 165K. Anyone that knows me..knows the car isn't babied. I'm not worried at all.
