Welcome to the site. I installed mine through the front....take your time so it doesnt scratch the paint. then I reached under the front air dam, once the grille is in place, and attached the clips.

    I emphasize..go slow

    Welcome!
Bottom grilles are harder in the later years than the earlier years. I actually didn't use the clips, instead I used zip-ties and drilled small holes for the bottom fasten points and the push-pin holes for the top.

    Welcome man!

Ya 1997's were the easy years to install lower grills. Not sure when GM started putting that large cover across the bottom of them, as I am thinking like in 2001 or so. Its a pain in the ass having it there...especially when you drop a tool down in the "black hole", good luck ever getting it back on the later year GP's. LOL

Yup, as soon as you do it once, you take care never to do it again.

I lost one of my dads 6" Snap-On 3/4" extensions down there. I didn't find it till a year later when I was removing my front bumper to repaint my car. It was still there, just a little rusty. Cleaned it up and put it back in his tool box. Then one day I heard him say "Hey, fond it, I thought I lost this some place". LOL Never told him it was me.

lol nice...yo i was wondering if you all could help me think of what else i could do to my car to make more power out of it, so far i have NGK iridium plugs, 8mm wires, throttle position enhancer, 180 drilled performance thermostat, intake (soon going to upgrade), full 3 inch catback exhaust with ceramic coated headers, next i want to get MSD blaster ignition coils...but what else should i get?

A PCM would be a good mod for sure. I recommend a DHP PCM as they have dang near ZERO problems with their programs. Then you can loose the throttle position enhancer as the PCM will take care of that, plus the shifting of the tranny.

The stock ignition system works just fine and puts out the juice. No need to replace it with after market, unless your stock stuff is wearing out and causing problems. Have not heard anything bad about the MSD Blaster coils. I dig the color myself. Personally, I am running the GM twin tower coils that Summit Racing sells. They are not as RED in color as the MSD's, they are more of a lightish red color.

you could get a 3.4 pulley, or a 3.25 with some fuel. a MPS would benefit the ease of changing them out. not sure iridiums are best for forced induction....was warned away form them..but I have no bases for that. normally you want a copper core plug...

do all the free mods as well.....and all depends on how far you are wanting to go, but for starters....1.7-1.9rr help out, or if you want a cam.

They added the extra plastic piece in the 2000's....I had scars on my wrists for weeks after I did mine. I had to do mine twice because of a front-end accident I had. Ugh, hopefully never again.
