Hello, Just picked up a 96 Grand Prix with 34,000 miles. I'd like to add hood louvers and HUD. Anyone know if HUD can be added easily?

Whoa, 1996 with 34k on the clock? Not a fan of the way the 4-door looks, but that's a nice find!

$4,500. The car was bought new by a 100 year old lady in 1996. It"s like a 1 year old car that's 15 years old.

Nice and clean ride, my first car looked the same, 1992 Grand Prix LE. Reliable and solid, take good care of it!

PS : An aftermarket muffler will make it sound like a beast.

Congrats on your purchase! Very, very nice find! Equipped with a sunroof. And is that leather?? Not used to seeing well equipped 4-doors.

Yes, HUD can be added. How easy it will be depends on your car. If you pop off the plastic top portion of the dash, and dig around a bit under the dash, you may find a bundle of wires/harness taped to the dash somewhere. Most '94 - '96 GPs had them. If you do, you're in luck, because everything will be a simple plug and play. If you don't, it can still be added, but will be a much more time consuming pain in the rear because you will have to cut and splice all the wires for the HUD into the appropriate wires from the gauge cluster. It's been done many, many times, but it's tedious. The same scenario stands for the driver info center (DIC), as well, though you will have to get a '96 specific DIC on account of that being the first year for OBDII, and the '94 - '94 OBD 1.5 DICs are not compatible with it.

Hood lovers can be custom added, of course. In fact, there was a very rare "GT" edition 4-door that came with the louvers from the factory. Too bad I just sold a green set, though I do still have a red set.

Thats awesome that you found a 96 with 34k on the clock!

If you haven't already, you may want to check for gasket rot if it's been sitting...

Car is nicely eqipeed with leather, buckets, console, sunroof, dual exhaust, etc. I'm looking for HUD parts. I have the louvers, just need the measurements on where they go.

i think thats the DIC (driver information center) that tells you all your mpgs and whatnot. the HUD just tells you your speed, i think.

Clean car, very nice grab. Looks amazing for 15yrs old

If you don't have louvers for the hood you might want to talk to Supersle

Oh hey Bill. Didn't realize you were over here too. I guess I have a reason to be here now too. Your going to have to take a look at my GP. It's pretty clean.

I told you those hood vents I sold you were a good deal!
