Introduction: hello to all the Grand Prix Forum members.

I took delivery of a one owner, 2000 Grand Prix GTP with the Daytona 500 trim package (1 of 2000), in Matteson, Illinois on 7/27/2010, with 132,224 miles on the odometer; (had to change planes twice to get to the local airport). I then started for home a little before sunset to Tampa Florida (1192 hair raising miles) giving me an odometer reading of 133,416.

The engine staled-out three times while traveling at speed, The first time I stopped for gas the fuel gage read 5/8 full, but I put 16.875 gallons of gas in a 17 gallon tank, leaving 3/8 of a gallon in the tank, a close call. When I started out the ETC read 365 miles, when I pulled in for gas the trip meter read 324 miles, for sure I was not going to get another 40 miles without refueling, on what was left in the tank. Then the engine would not start after refueling. I had to let the engine cool, before it would start-up, every time I stopped for gas.

I stopped at a Days Inn, at about 3 AM and was up a 6AM.after breakfast, I was back on the road around 7 AM; later stopped at a MacDonald’s to for a light dinner. Arrived home around 10 PM; knowing the I had to take the car to the shop for immediate repairs. I knew that there were some thing that were missing and some things that need to be replaced before I set out but there were thing that could be seen that also need to be repaired.

Missing and replaced: keyless remote, cargo net, cigarette lighter, coin holder.

    Still missing: floor mats.

Broken or worn (known) and replaced: Serpentine belt, radio, rear view mirror, driver side window motor controller, hood liner, head lights (polish/clean exterior head lights, no good as interior was also corroded).

Still broken (known) Passenger side seat belt guide and knob on back of the seat.

Broken or worn (unknown) and replaced: mass air flow sensor, fuel level sensor, engine coolant thermostat, read brake pads,

Maintenance: oil change, transmission flush, motor coolant flush, 4 wheel alignment.

Current repairs: steering control arm bushings, front stabilizer bar bushings, air intake gasket, vacuum gasket, valve cover gasket water gasket, spark plugs, ignition wires, motor and transmission mounts, ac compressor and orifice tube.

Next repairs: new tires, oil pan gasket, crankshaft seal and sensor, ac evaporator.

How much you pick it up for, I mean over 1000 miles and a plane ticket is a long way to go to get a car, hopefully you got it dirt cheap

Hopefully you got a good deal. Sounds like it needs a lot of help.
I would NOT do a trans flush with those miles and obvious neglect it's seen. Only do a filter and fluid change.

Wow. Is this going to be a mod car, or a restoration/collection?
Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

Spent 3 days taking pics with my cell phone, I was very dsapointed to find that the resolution (with this one exception) do not meet the site requirment for resolution! My paint color is very reflective, so many pics I took had to much glare, and when I put the car in the shade the car turned into a big mirror, so for good pics, I waited for a partly cloudy day, to find out that the resolution was to high for this site.
