    Hi there. I'm new to the forum, but I can tell you that I just love my Gran Prix GXP. Even the GTO drivers like it. I hope to get better aquainted with you all over time.

    Yo Bob! Welcome.
    Irridium spark plugs last 100k mi and work just as well as copper. Copper is a waste on N/A and only lasts 15k mi. Don't use Platinum.
    Use 195* tstat unless you can thoroughly explain why not; 99.9% don't need a lower temp.
    Almost any oil filter, ever, is of higher quality than ACDelco. Spend $6+.

    hey guys. thanks for responding. I've been busy so I havent been on line. Anyway I also am having trouble learning how to post new questions on the forum.

    So I will ask a question here. I was under the impression that my grand prix had an security alarm built in it that I activated when I locked the car. Anyway it was broken into and the alarm didntl go off.

    Factory alarm sensitivity sucks. There's supposed to be a way to turn it up, but to be honest, your best bet would be getting a nice aftermarket system like a viper installed. I had a viper in my 98 GP and it would go off when medium to loud cars would drive by it. I could control multiple things with it and it had a nice screen on the keyfob which also beeped if anything happened.
