Hey everyone, I saw this forum while looking up some information about my new car and thought it looked like the perfect place to learn more about my car and what you can do to it.

I just bought my '98 GT last week and love it to pieces! I had to pay for the enitre thing by myself, which is quite a feat (atleast to me ) for a 16 year old without rich parents, making minimum wage at a grocery store (got a $0.05 raise this week! ). I have washed it twice since getting it and am going to wash it again and detail the inside a little more today. Will post 1 pic for now, more later.

I ordered a pair of clear corner headlights off of eBay last week, as the old ones were very yellow with moisture inside and had some burned plastic on one.

I also ordered some rear Pontiac decals from PFYC just for fun (reflective red).

I had the car checked out by a mechanic before buying it, and there were a few problems, but not enough to convince me not to buy the car.

It has a VERY SMALL oil pan leak I plan on getting fixed if I ever get the money, the repair shop said it should cost $400 to get it fixed. (About one drop of oil per day I've seen at least).

The oil filter is rusty he said and needed to be torched and replaced he said, so i don't think my Dad and I can do that. Also the coolant is very brown (probably Dexcool) and I WANT that to be flushed and my Dad won't have us do that for some reasons, whats a cheap place to do this? The oil sticker says it was just changed and my Dad and I just put a cheapo air filter in it for now (Microgard i believe), when upgrading the air intake, should I do open cone or Wizaired? Tranny needs new fluid and filter as well, should my Dad and I do that?

My Dad works for GM as an Engineer and is pretty mechanically inclined BTW.

This isn't letting me attach a picture either, any info on that? Thanks.

    Thanks for reading my post!

I have a friend who laughs at me all the time and says I have a girl car.... until I tell him to line up with me. Then he changes the subject....... he drives a honda delsol. Should be proud that you bought that on your own.

    RUN!!!

The people here are bad... they will start off teaching you "tricks of the trade", how to do your own maintenance, fix problems that might occur, give you that warm bubbly feeling inside.

They will slowly gain your trust and then turn it against you and before long your throwing all your money into the car trying to out run Blue and be a 10sec drag car...

RUN, RUN WHILE YOU HAVE MONEY!!!!

I agree. If I didn't have to spend money elsewhere I would have it all in my car. I should stop coming back before I go bankrupt.

I have always saved my money until now, and at 16 I don't have many dues, plus I LOVE spending money on my car, so most of my Kroger money will be going toward it.

I just posted more pics, you can see them here: http://www.grandprixforums.net/hippo...-gt-48572.html

It's because they're jealous you can nail a chick with EASE in your backseat.

Seriously, someone in a delsol said you drive a girl car. It doesn't get more girly than the delsol.
