Hello! Just bought a 99 grand prix gtp as my first car as a 20 year old. Thought i'd look for a forum to join for any problems, questions i had as this is what most people do with their cars. Wondering if anyone has ever changed the head unit in this model, it has the 6 speaker bose system with the amp underneath the trunk opening, I wanna get a new head unit and possibly speakers all around for it, wondering if its as simple as swapping or if running new wiring is necessary?!

you can buy an adapter and then your steering wheel controls will work.

Thanks everyone, I'm definitely gonna look into the steering wheel controls adapter if I feel like I want it, anyone know if these 1999 bose speakers are any good? I might just replace the lot of'em haha

Welcome to the forum!!! Your best bet is to just buy new head unit and bypass bose amp and replace bose speakers.
