Hey everyone. I've been looking into getting a GTP as my next car, and just came to look up some info, and ask questions. I drive a 99 Grand Am now, so I already have Pontiac blood. My car is getting into the high miles, and time for ANOTHER head gasket UIM/LIM. No thanks. I almost got a GTP as my first car 2 years ago, but my dad didn't want me to get a supercharged car to start with. I'm not a car noob, or a mechanic noob at all. Just a GP noob. I've been building cars and bikes with my dad since I was 5. I'm just looking to get into a little more of a grown up car, with a decent mod base. The GTP sedan seems right for me, as I've already learned why coupes are inefficient. I'm just planning on using it as a daily, and I would just do basic engine and suspension mods, with a decent audio build, and some rims.
I work at Pizza Hut, as a cook, and driver on rare occasion when they need one pretty bad. The gas mileage seems decent, and I love the interiors and general size of the car. Plus, late nineties- early 2000s pontiac styling has always appealed to me.
A little background on me.
I was supposed to go to boot camp for the Marines on the 7th, but an ankle surgery messed that up for me. The Marines can no longer accept me at this time, so I'm talking to all the other recruiters. I'm not taking any classes right now, just working and building my motorcycleI graduated high school in 2010, and am ready to get going to some military branch and get my life started. The big dollar bonuses the Army is offering sound pretty good right now
Any starter info you can throw my way such as what to look for on a used GTP, or even just GT, would be much appreciated. Also, I'm not familiar with all of the GP aftermarket companies yet, so please don't throw out random names haha. I do know some, like zzp and the general car ones though. Just a little extra explaining helps because this is a new platform. Thanks!
