I would like to introduce myself as a Customer Assistance Representative from the GM Social Media group. The GM Social Media team is responsible for scanning over sixty forums, including this one, in order to provide customer service to those who utilize them. While we are not able to provide technical assistance, we are able to help in terms of customer assistance. This would include interacting with the customer in hopes that we can reach some kind of resolution together. We are looking forward to assisting those with concerns on the site. I can understand and appreciate you wanting to ensure that this is a legitimate outreach from GM. We are eager to be joining this online community and hope that we are able to provide some assistance here. Thank you.

    Tricia, GM Customer Service.

What were the main reasons that Pontiac was discontinued from the GM vehicle line? It was one of the best selling cars!

Dumbest move for a company trying to stay afloat. More Buicks are sold in China than any other car. Also if I'm not mistaken, GM sold more Buicks in China than they have sold any other car anywhere else in the world.

    Welcome Trisha.

Really? A customer service rep says they want to help you and in their intro thread, and right off the bat you're harassing them about a top-level investment decision made to get a government loan some two years ago. Real classy fellas. Heck, maybe with the exception of Miker56, none of you have bought a Pontiac younger than nine years old - what are you complaining about?!

How about you at least wait until her second thread to bug her, like proper gentlemen?

Well i was extremely upset that Pontiac was discontinued. However, I do not think that removing Buick is the option.

In my opinion, Chevrolet=GMC. Thus, cut GMC and bring back Pontiac.

Pontiac was a unique sporty brand known for performance. And I think GM just lost that when they cut Pontiac. Sure, Saturn was unnecessary and Hummers were already being made less and less like the original HumVee. But Pontiac was a special brand unique to its own. I was sad to see it gone.

And knowing me, I will remain with Pontiac for quite some time. After I get my GTP, probably work my way over to a G8.
